The Art Integrated Math Program has been designed to first, enable the students to improve upon their math skills, and second, to provide vocational instruction which will allow them to explore the world of work and prepare for future vocational experience.

Art lessons instruct the students in basic art concepts and cover all media from graphic work to sculpture. Through art instruction students learn new skills and express themselves in new and exciting ways while studying the link between art and the private sector.

As is the case with math instruction, art instruction also attempts to focus on a students individual abilities. Careful attention is paid to a student’s talents and abilities and teachers’ seek out opportunities to nuture a students talents whenever possible.

AIM "Concept of Design" combines the theories and techniques of art, math and the sciences to create 2-D and 3-D projects.  Using "principles of design" to construct functional items, the students will gain an understanding of how things work when they are applied to our daily lives.

The Art Integrated Math Program will meet with the students one time per week for 1.5 hours. The schedule will consist of four, nine week quarters beginning Sept. 2011 and ending June 2012.
